Now that my students are schooling at home, they need materials to support their learning! Being able to use a whiteboard to write/draw their thinking is a concrete way for students to cement their learning. When doing math, reading, writing programs, etc. on their Chromebooks, many students benefit from drawing out the math problem, sketching a plan for their writing, or even writing down key words from a video they're watching. The whiteboard is sustainable and simple to use for all my students. We already use this important tool in our classroom when working on Lexia, MobyMax, and Scholastic News. These whiteboards will also come in handy for students to share their thoughts/responses when we meet through a live-stream platform.
The markers and crayons are essential materials to support students in the visual arts.
