The majority of my students live below poverty. Our entire school receives free breakfast and lunch for the students. They come from single parent homes and foster care. Many of them are 3-4 years behind on their reading levels and most of them have never taken a history class before. I have over 10% of my students who are SPED, 504, Dyslexic or suffer from severe emotional disturbances. Additionally up to 40% of my students are classified as LEP or Limited English Proficiency. My school is plagued with frequent fighting, skipping classes and parents who do not involve themselves in their children's success.
