My students are eager and ready to learn. They are Bilingual students and are just now facing the challenge of reading in their second language. Most of the students come from lower income immigrant parents. They are hard working and enjoy reading. The most common question I hear is, "Can I read my book?" once they finish an assignment. Although they are young. I encourage them to begin thinking about college as does the school. My students are young but do understand the importance of their education. The school embraces bilingual students and has great culture. The school encourages all of it students to think beyond high school and to begin thinking about college despite the fact that it is an elementary school.
