My students are comprised of new English language learners. They all have their own unique background story, learning style, and are a pleasure to work with. Many of the students come from a refugee background with limited, to no education from their home country. They are all eager learners and are just waiting to be given the opportunity to succeed at even the smallest task, Our school is a unique school, its the only school in our district that has a dual language program from k-3, as each year passes another grade will be added to the dual-language program. The school also gets a high influx of refugee families that are currently new to the country. We have an 82.5% free and reduced lunch and a 41.1% transitional bilingual population. These student's in my opinion and I know my fellow teachers will agree have a way of leaving an imprint in your heart. Their love and eagerness to learn is a present factor on a daily basis and one can never get tired of it.
