My classroom is in a K-8, Title 1 school. More than half of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many of my students struggle with reading, and are reading below grade level. Because of the difficulty they encounter when reading, they do not enjoy books, and they find classics exceedingly dull. Despite this struggle and the reluctance to read, my students want to learn and want to get better. Connecting them with the right book will hopefully help them on their way.
