Help me give my students creative ways to learn and access the curriculum!
Our district includes a variety of neighborhood spread wide over rural and urban areas.
Our school has a wonderful bunch of middle school students with special talents, high abilities, and explosive behaviors.
They are kids on a autism spectrum who are uniquely talented; artists, scientists, athletes and more.
We serve students with moderate Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or having very complex emotional or behavioral needs. As a result of differences in sensory perception, my students require multisensory approaches in instruction.
My Project
BrainPOP helps students to gain full access to general education curriculum!
It has cross-curricular, standards-aligned animated movies reinforced by supplemental activities and materials.
This interactive, online resource ties directly to the curriculum and the students' interests. A subscription is highly desirable to our students with autism who crave technology and benefit from visual and auditory learning opportunities. Our students love using the laptops and chromebooks to learn. Students find BrainPOP highly engaging, which helps them develop background knowledge on a variety of content areas more easily. Students are enthusiastic to use BrainPOP to learn language, science, social studies, writing, reading, math and more during their free choice time. We had a subscription last year, but no longer have the funding for it this year.
This visual and auditory learning experience is tailored to our students’ needs.
The content comes with bonus activities, quizzes, and games. This online resource supports our students’ technology skills, and they thrive from its fun and engaging lessons. Students can explore topics of their choosing or learn more about a topic taught in class. Your generosity will give our students a chance to learn on their own, reinforce topics, and most importantly have fun while learning!
