Literacy centers are an exciting part of our everyday learning. A variety of literacy manipulatives and hands-on materials promote student agency and encourage our young readers to become engaged in learning. Creating an inviting and organized space specifically for literacy center activities is imperative to my students' learning.
These mobile literacy centers will allow my students to independently find, select, practice, and clean up engaging literacy activities. My students will gain a sense of independence while practicing various literacy skills previously taught within each literacy unit.
The shelving unit will be used to hold 12 literacy centers that can easily be changed for each unit, in which students will be able to select from and use throughout the classroom. The colored bins will be used to differentiate, organize, and track materials used for center activities, which will help groups of students focus on specific skills,. The color bins will help make literacy centers one of the most exciting part of our day!
