We are a 5th grade general education class. We work hard all day in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, but we are looking for more! We have started digging into S.T.E.M education together by doing Genius Hour, Wonder Wednesdays using wonderopolis, large group S.T.E.M challenges, and a bi-weekly S.T.E.M. center.
Our elementary school offers a S.T.E.M. education class for K-3 students, but my 5th graders do not currently have that opportunity. I am trying to create this opportunity for my students on my own in our own classroom. I know how important this instruction is and I want my students to get the chance to experience all of this awesome learning.
We have a wide range of ability levels in our class, but I know that every single student will be able to benefit from the S.T.E.M activities that I have planned. I want to give my students this chance to learn these important skills and have these experiences.
