Bodine Elementary is an Oklahoma City Public School that houses Pre-K through Sixth Grade. It is a Title I school with 100% free and reduced lunch and a highly multicultural population. We have 29 fifth graders at the moment in Mr. Nelson's class. Six of our students are on IEPs, which means they see another teacher in a smaller group for part of the day. I have students in my class who work from a first grade level to a seventh grade level. Our class strives to be respectful, hard-working, and cooperative (the "rules" they created). My kids are like any other group of students. They relish the opportunity to take on challenges. They desire to create. They love teaching others. As often as I'm able, I work to give my students the chance to participate in lessons that push them to do all of those things. I'm excited about Learning with LEGOs because I know we will be able to do more activities like that on a consistent basis.
