Stop into the ART room of our school and ask the question "Is this good?!" I can guarantee any student in Kindergarten through Fifth grade will answer "Did you TRY your BEST?!...If so, then it's EXCELLENT!" There are no such things as being "good" or "bad" at art. Here, it's about the experience. We don't expect everyone's art to be the same, because if it was...it would be BOR-ING! Our Art room is a place that supports literacy, creative thinking, and a sense of community. Currently we have 10 families that are homeless, 87% of our students are on free or reduced lunch, and we provide services to 271 second language learners. Needless to say, much of our student's stability, and sense of what is normal, comes from school. As a school, our needs go up, and our budget goes down.
