My project is twofold: building mindfulness practices and literacy with two iPads.
First, the longer I teach, the more I notice the increased mental health needs of my students. Many students come to class with anxiety, depression, and trauma. My vision is to create a space with 1 iPad that has the Calm app for students to use when they need to re-focus. This would teach them techniques to manage stress as well as keep them in the classroom.
Second, I have many students that are learning English and the iPad has numerous helpful apps that can translate simultaneously while they learn. The second iPad would be available for students learning English to access material to better understand class material.
