Our school has a wonderful variety of cultures including students from Vietnam, the Middle East, Central America, and the Pacific Islands. We are a Title One school comprised of 55.53 % English language learners, 21.05 % are in special education, and 76.58 % are on free or reduced lunch.
My students are energetic and eager to learn. Their families are supportive and truly care for their children, although they do not always have the means to provide "the extras" that are not part of the regular school curriculum.
This is the first time our students have had an opportunity like this, and their excitement for the project has improved their zeal for school in general.
