My students are in need of classroom supplies that help them develop their understandings of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Through using these LEGO sets, the students will be using materials that they are familiar with to actively engage in hands-on learning. First of all, in building various configurations, the students will use these to serve as a basis for their development of science notebooks. They will then move on to various STEM activities including stability of buildings and bridges, science models, and continuing to test and reevaluate various designs. Also, the students will use the LEGO sets to build their mathematical understandings of multiplication, patterns, and symmetry. As they progress in their STEM knowledge, the students will then move on to more advanced STEM LEGO learning, including robotics.
