My students LOVE to read! Whenever they get the opportunity to pull out a book (or even when they're supposed to be doing other things) they want to read. We practice reading in many different ways in our classroom: choral reading as a class, independently, or to a partner. Since they love to read, that should mean they are the most fluent readers, right? Unfortunately, that's not always the case. While my students get ample opportunity to read during school hours, the reality is that many of my students do not have access to books to practice reading fluency at home. The more you read and work on your reading fluency, the better a reader you will become.
