My students are born and raised in the urban suburban of Compton, California. They come from low income families and they are African Americans and Mexican Americans. Some of my students are in group homes/foster care. My students are academically low , meaning they are years behind in all areas. I am a special education teacher. My students' disabilities include Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, Mild Retardation, Emotionally Disturbed, and Visually Impaired.
