What is my project? I would love to purchase sensory materials to create sensory bins in my classroom. All students benefit from multi-sensory experiences and in a special education classroom sensory bins can be even more beneficial to activate learning. I want to give my 9 students access to various sensory bins to increase their language skills as they engage in play with peers or utilize their AAC devices to describe their play experience to others. Their fine motor skills will improve as they manipulate the small objects. Research has shown sensory bins can provide the needed sensory input for children with sensory needs. The bins would be utilized both by my students and the students in our 3rd-5th grade ECS classroom, as well reaching a total of 19 students this school year. All of the materials selected are washable and can be utilized for several years.
