Although the majority of my students are Caucasian, approximately 40% come from different ethnicities. Students do not always understand and are frequently asking about their classmates different customs and traditions. My students want to understand the differences.
My students' love for reading will help them explore different cultures with books that feature differences in their lives. My students will gain knowledge of how we are all different but the same.
At this time, our school library is lacking in books with different cultural backgrounds. Funding of this project will supply our library with materials to aid in teaching multicultural differences.
