My classes are filled with lively, hilarious, dramatic, insecure, sensitive, and dare I say, even hormonal, 8th grade students. They may be going through some of the most confusing and exciting changes of their lives, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Simply put, they keep my job interesting! I teach four classes (two honors and two regular English/Language Arts classes) at the greatest school in the country, in my humble opinion. No matter the level of the class, all of my students struggle when it comes to finding interesting, relatable books to read. Sometimes it feels like pulling teeth getting them to go to the library and pick out a book. That's where Ðǿմ«Ã½.org comes in to save the day!
I am looking to re-stock my outdated classroom library with the latest and greatest in Young Adult literature. I've selected several book series that my students are interested in (and somehow are always checked out in the library) to add to my collection in my classroom.
