When the elementary visual art program started in my district three years ago, I watched my students enter the room excited, not only to make art, but to be in a room covered in posters from art history and drawings and painting of the elements of art and principles of design.
These tables will encourage collaborative learning and risk taking by allowing them to move around and connect with their work! I want them to feel they are in a space different from their classroom, where mess is just part of the creative process. Tables that allow a variety of materials will allow them to explore different avenues of expression.
