Our school is housed between hayfields and most of our students know how to drive a tractor or spend their afternoons hunting in the fall. We are a small school who grew by 90 students this year when another small school in our county closed. We now have a total of 259 students packed in tight but we're making it work. Our school is made up of all demographics and together we form a family. It's a school where everybody knows everyone's name and most of our students' parents attended HES as children, including myself. We are excited to expand our students' knowledge through flipped classroom and although many parents and some teachers are hesitant, it is such an efficient way of learning and the students absolutely love being able to be more hands-on in the classroom and work with others exploring and discovering. With flipping, we are able to reach students who learn in all sorts of ways and we have seen a rise in our standardized testing scores.
