Currently, I have twenty-two amazing students. They come in all different sizes and shapes. They come with warm hearts and smiling faces. They come to learn and challenge the universe!
I teach in an urban school district. The majority of our students are economically disadvantaged. There are twenty-two students in my class: nine girls, thirteen boys. Currently I teach the inclusion class which consists of the following: four students with an IEP, three students that receive services for speech pathology, one student that has a 504, and three students that receive ESL services. We are a Title I school so we do receive additional state funding; however, these funds are typically reserved for professional development, school improvement, and mandated school-wide resources.
