I teach 9th grade English as well as AVID (a college prep class) and we need EVERYONE to have the same dictionary so each student has equal access to information. Last month, our district was forced to cut $40 MILLION DOLLARS from our current budget, with another estimated $40 MILLION DOLLARS to be cut in June 2009. We are DESPERATE for new dictionaries, as ours are old and falling apart. As of today, I have 10 (extremely ragged)dictionaries for 36 students. This situation is far from "ideal".
