My high school classroom is in desperate need of a class set of headphones for student use. Funds will be used for 1 class set of headphones and 1 holder for headphone storage. If I have to spend one more dollar for my classroom (because that's what teachers do) my husband will be none too happy!!
In a world where many high school kids are sporting $250 earbuds, the children at my school are not. Our school has worked hard to provide amazing technology to our students in a 1:1 ratio. All of my students have a MacBook that we use daily in class. Our school has a very high low income rate and the priorities for our families are food and shelter.
As a science teacher, I like to bring the world to these students. Many have not been out of our area at all and they lack valuable background knowledge to aid them in class. This often involves videos, virtual tours and interviews with experts. The problem I face is when the students watch this information on their supplied MacBook and everyone is trying to listen to their computer at once. It makes it hard for anyone to concentrate, especially my many language learners.
Me and my students will be so grateful for your help. They are really sweet kids.....even for teenagers! We just need a little classroom help to make our lessons better each day. My class is located in Keene, TX. Thank you so much for your consideration!
