Scholastic News will give my students the opportunity to learn about different topics that interest them in a fun, engaging way. Scholastic News will help get my students more excited about reading nonfiction topics that are age-appropriate, and will be a wonderful supplement to our Science and Social Studies curriculum. Scholastic News also teaches students about current events, and allows student to find out what is going on in the world in a positive way. Student enjoy reading these, and the online component is a wonderful asset to use as a whole group lesson.
The weekly Scholastic News magazines will give my students the opportunity to see not only what is currently happening in the world, but offer a chance to make real-world connections to science and social studies. It will help them build their literacy skills as well, and with the information found in the magazines they will be able to take these magazines home to share with their families.
