I work with awesome children who are extraordinary but need more support and assistance. We have over 98% receiving free and reduced lunch and are of African American descent. We have a state sponsored afterschool program where many eat before going home in the evenings. There is a large number who are latchkey kids. Because of the lack of books in the home, having a storyteller come to the campus receives the same excitement as if there was a carnival on campus.
