Because most of my pre-kindergarteners do not have the space or financial resources to have a lot of toys at their homes, especially toys that require a lot of space, they look forward to station time at school. It is during this time that they will have the opportunity to use the giant magnetic tiles to build large structures, portraying their inanimate or, as our project picture shows, even animate visions.
Because they work in groups of four, they will not only use their imaginations to create the structures but will also develop the language skills necessary to communicate with their teammates.
