Support Mrs. Forsyth's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
My 2nd grade classroom is full of students who want to learn and be exposed to new things. They come from blue collar families that place importance on education, and that sacrifice luxuries to make sure their sons and daughters have the necessities. My students and their families recognize and appreciate a teacher's or donor's effort to help, primarily because we often work with limited resources. Unfortunately, our students do not have access to the educational tools that have become a practical and necessary part of today's technological 21st century society.
Our school district is very small, and although that can create a great close knit school community, it also greatly hinders the funds available to update teaching tools in the classroom. The only technology constantly available to my students in our classroom is a box television which sits on a counter, and an overhead projector with transparencies.
