The students at CICS Bucktown are diverse and come from a multitude of backgrounds. While each and every student is different, many of my students face challenges that the a lot of students do not. While this might seem like it would impede their learning, quite the opposite is true. My students constantly strive for their best and even if they need a little more help realizing their potential, they still love to learn and grow.
85% of the students from my school are considered students in high need due to backgrounds they come from. This means they face challenges in their day-to-day life that most students do not. However, they are not ones to feel down on their luck and the culture of the school is one of expected excellence. At my school we offer students a way to improve their lives cognitively, emotionally, and socially.
