My students are active and energized kids. With stability balls, my students will be able to harness their energy into positive ways while increasing their academic performance and overall health.
We are a Title 1 school in North Carolina with over 80% on free and reduced lunch . Our school itself has incredible diversity.
My 4th grade classroom is filled with many types of personalities . I have 6-Exceptional Children, 4 of which have ADHD. Their diversity inspires me. We pride ourselves on all being different.
But there is one thing that I have noticed that makes my kids all similar. It is their inability to sit still! Truly this is not a bad thing! Kids should be able to move their bodies! It is unfair to them if they are told to sit in their chair on their pockets rather than sitting on their feet in the chair or leaning over on their desks. I'm guilty of telling them this because it is a distraction to me and other kids that they sit around.
