I have a classroom of about 25 students, many who can be labeled as a minority, who require special education services, who can be labeled as English Language Learners, and many who go to homes that have very few books and other resources to continue their learning at home. I work in a public school district that many label as 'failing,' but everyday my students are fighters and work hard to overcome all obstacles in their way. These students come to school excited for learning, and love to get their hands on learning. Despite what labels are thrown at them, these students emphasize day in and day out why I love to teach so much and why I work so hard to make sure they succeed inside and outside of my classroom!
