I teach in a Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion Program. Students at my school come from cultural backgrounds of Hispanic, Somali, Caucasian, African American, Cambodian, Chham, Vietnamese, Native American, and Pacific Islander.
My students are always working with peers from another language/culture; this practice helps instill respect, understanding, and empathy towards peers who come another culture. I truly enjoy working in a diverse school community where my young learners experience both linguistic and cultural diversity.
