I teach in a Title I school with a majority of our students receiving free and/or reduced-price lunch. Their diverse backgrounds and differing levels of support at home do not diminish their curiosity, excitement for learning, and desire to make an impact in the world. As a school we focus on overcoming struggles of learning, learning from errors, and developing a growth mindset. We value working and creating, and understand that struggles make our brain grow, but these struggles should not come from lack of effort (or lack of technology).
