My students are happy, energetic, lively and excited about learning. They also have special needs, so we learn things differently than most students. Learning life skills are important to our class family and we work on them daily. The learning program we use comes with recipes every month. We have made ice cream, butter and granola bars just to name a few. Some recipes call for a microwave and that's where we're looking for some help.
Our faculty sure loves to eat! We'd like to use our math skills to measure ingredients and cook up a small meal that we can eat together and share with some of our faculty. In addition, the iPad will be used as a communication device to share our daily experiences, just like families do at the kitchen table.
