My third grade students attend a Title I school, where most of the children have free or reduced lunch. Several come from low socio-economic backgrounds and/or difficult home situations. Often, students do not have books or educational materials at home, and a good portion of the student population is learning English as a second language.
The boys and girls in my class come from different backgrounds and with different learning styles and abilities. I would like to provide a variety of activities, games, and learning experiences so that they can continue to develop their mathematical skills, which is an area that has needed improvement in both our school and district.
I have carefully selected materials that students will find both educational and fun to use.
