I teach 4th and 5th grade students. I have a nice mixture of personalities, but for the most part this is one of the most active groups I have ever taught. They are very energetic on the play ground, and many of them are involved in after school sporting activities. They are also competitive, whether it is dodge ball in gym class or review games in science, they are very motivated to win. Our school is very small. Kindergarten through 12th grade are housed in the same building. The entire 5th grade has only 42 students with two teachers, and all other grades are similar in numbers. Sports along with academics are very important to our school. In 2015 not only did our volleyball team win Districts and Sectionals, but our academic team competed and placed fifth in the state competition! Our community is very small, and for the most part is very supportive of our school and its accomplishments.
