Most of my students come from a high poverty area. My school as an 89% poverty rate. Because of this, many of them only have the opportunity to read and experience books through school. Most of my students are excited about reading. When they get a new book they immediately tell me about It and how they can't wait to find out what happens. When something is funny or when they discover fascinating facts they run to me to tell me. They love to talk to each other about their books and hurry to get books that their friends have read. I am so overwhelmed by their love for reading. I am hoping I can continue to help them build a concrete love for reading that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
