One of the challenges with online learning is having a small screen to teach and monitor students participation, learning and attendance. On a daily basis I have to present material to my students either through a story, text or phonemic awareness strategies. As I switch to present material I can no longer see my students which is difficult to assess if my students have questions, if they are on task or even understanding what I'm teaching.
To bring my teaching to the 20th century I need another monitor to allow me to present and see my students at the same time. I want to be able to engage with my students learning and with two monitors this will allow me to assess and collaborate with my students through distance learning and in the classroom. Right now I have to choose between seeing and interacting with my class or sharing my teaching materials to my students. With two monitors it brings my teaching and my students learning to the 20th century with more collaboration and engagement.
