I have the privilege to work at a wonderful inner city elementary school which in a Title One community. The median income is below $44,000 per year and 18.8% of the city is foreign born. More than half of my students are English Language Learners and the use of manipulatives in the classroom is very beneficial to enhance the students learning. The students are in need of visual materials to enhance their acquisition of the English language and to learn how to read. An easel would help the students have access to charts and moveable magnetic board.
