My school is an amazing early childhood center that has pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. It is a school that radiates hard work, positivity and passion. My classroom is full of 22 loving, energetic,and amazing kindergarten students! The students are so eager to learn new things. A day in our classroom involves hands on learning, student engagement, and many opportunities for pair-share thinking, and small group learning. I have a diverse group of students who come from many different racial and ethnic backgrounds. Our kindergarten day is very busy! The students receive calendar instruction for 15 minutes, 45 whole group reading and phonic instruction, 30 minutes reading comprehension, 60 minutes small group reading instruction, 40 minutes writing instruction, 35 minutes whole group math instruction, 10 minutes of number talks, and 35 minutes small group differentiated math instruction.
