Seventh grade math students begin to calculate with integers, follow more in depth order of operations, and learn about powers and roots.

Math Practice 5 (I can use math tools and tell why I used them) and Math Practice 8 (I can solve problems by looking for rules and patterns) in particular will be more readily addressed when calculators are available to experiment with and to verify mathematical properties. A classroom set will help to ensure that on one is left out.
