Throughout the school year the students will be engaging in many scientific endeavors. From examining manufacturer's claims about common household products, to the intricacies of the human body, to the examination of toxins in the local ecosystem. The use of technology will strengthen and intensify their studies, observations, analyses, conclusions, and evaluations. In a classroom of limited resources, information loaded into a tablet will not just provide information, but will take them to places and resources previously unknown. Like taking a trip through the human body with student directed stops for understanding, technology can provide limitless opportunities for deeper understanding. Technology in the hands of each student also allows the individual to tailor his or her own learning by altering the pace, depth, repetition, remediation, visualization, etc. to meet their personal needs. No longer his he or she tied to teacher led instruction that progresses at the teacher's pace. Unlimited information is at their fingertips. Customization is in their power.
