I have a classroom of 26 eager and enthusiastic eight- and nine-year-old learners. There are diverse abilities, talents, backgrounds and experiences represented in my classroom. We embrace and celebrate the diversity by learning and growing from one another each and every day. Our K-5 school serves over 800 children. A large number of our children come from homes with low socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of our children are also in the process of learning English as a second language.
Despite any challenges our school faces, the entire school community is extremely caring, dedicated and supportive. As an educator, I feel very fortunate to work in an environment with an administration and staff who believe in high-quality education for the whole child and for every child.
