We have a unique situation at our school. Our school was designed as a research and development center to pilot programs in our district. Due to that, our students are selected for our school, through a lottery system. Our students are bused in from every neighborhood in our school district, which is the third largest district in the nation. The demographics of our school represent the demographics of our county, so that research projects that are conducted, can be generalized for the district. We are a Title I school. Most of our students qualify for, and receive our free and reduced lunch program. We have a very diverse population, which makes it great for piloting programs and conducting research. Our teachers are always trying new and innovative teaching strategies to engage our students in the learning process.
