The resources I am requesting for my classroom are essential classroom basics. Of course, they’re called essentials for a reason. I am requesting composition books for my students to use as interactive notebooks and to record their reflections on each week’s lessons, dry erase markers to allow us to analyze the components of good writing, hand sanitizer to keep us healthy and clean, hand lotion to keep our hands soft and smooth, tissues for times when we are sick, and (what will hopefully be) a year’s supply of pencils. These supplies will allow us to approach learning in a hands-on, interactive way that lends itself to an appreciation of reading, writing, and exploring the world around us in a safe, healthy, nurturing environment. Having access to these supplies will lessen the financial burden on families in our community, allow students equitable access to coursework and learning opportunities, help our students to feel supported and loved, and ensure them that the world outside of their own community is invested in their education and success. Your donation to this project will help my students start the school year with their best foot forward and truly give them the keys to the Kingdom of Success.
