The flexible, comfortable seating will allow my students a safe place to collaborate and learn. Rather than cold, hard desks, this seating will offer my students a sense of comfort that they may not have in their out of school environments. The freedom to choose where they learn best will help build a sense of community and trust, thus increase learning.
Flexible seating is conducive to peer tutoring and collaboratively solving problems. They feel less alone and more willing to take risks in their learning. Students use dry erase markers and whiteboards to practice their skills and really prefer this method as opposed to practicing on paper alone.
