As a Center Middle School teacher, I have the continuous pleasure of exploring education with some of the most creative, passionate, and talented young adults in the Kansas City area. Center Middle School is an urban middle school that offers a quality “home away from home” for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. Although the majority of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch and face financial struggles at home, they work hard not to let circumstances beyond their control stand in the way of learning and of creating a brighter future. Our goal at Center Middle School is to promote a positive, technology enriched environment that is challenging to all of our students. The students love participating in hands-on social learning experiences. My classroom centers around hands-on activities and encourages choice based arts and flexibility. Specifically, my classroom will encourage coding, science, art, math, engineering, and critical thinking.
