My school is an economically disadvantaged, at-risk, and Title I school in which all enrolled students receive free breakfast and lunch. The ability and need for parents to supply basic school supplies such as scissors, crayons, paper, pencils, glue and markers to my students has been quite a challenge. These materials will be able to help engage students in lessons and as they increase their knowledge, they can bring it back into their community. It will also give my students the necessary tools to be successful in completing their assignments. Most importantly, this will help to make distance learning feel not so distant.
