This year, I teach a combined class of 24 7th and 8th graders. Teaching two different grade levels of math is particularly challenging, as they learn very different sets of standards in each grade. The students in this combined class need this technology so that I am able to split my instruction between grades, and each grade level can still maintain their learning. They also need it for engaging math games, math websites to answer their questions at any time, access to alternative ways to present what they have learned, and access to lessons I have prepared digitally. Though these kids were placed in this combined grade level class, they deserve just as much access to the content as their peers who are in a homogeneous grade level class, and these computers will provide this for them.
