My students will engage in a Compare and Contrast activity that will include research, reading and writing. They will explore the fascinating world of Tarantulas. We will use our current classroom resident "Rosie" the Rose Hair Tarantula and our new residents "Rizzo" and "Frenchie" the Pink Toe Tarantulas.
During this year long project, we will research, identify and observe the differences and similarities between the Tarantula species that burrow and the species that are arboreal.
We will also learn about the differences in their habitats, their features and the way the stalk and hunt for prey.
This project will reach from Kindergarten to 5th grade students, meeting their writing curriculum goals and sparking their inquisitive nature.
