Our school is a rural school district that serves approximately 350 students (grades 5-8) in which 63% of those students receive free- or reduced- lunches. In fact, most of my students will have the opportunity to be the first person in their family to earn a college degree.
As a district, I know that we desire to provide our students with the best education possible. Our students are hungry to learn; however, textbooks no longer satisfy their desires. Although the teachers in our school work diligently to create lessons that are meant to be engaging for the students, our school district is still very limited on funds for each teacher.
Even though our district is very supportive, it is still very difficult to obtain all the materials necessary to ensure my students are receiving the best education possible.
